The Real Refuge

Joshua 2 reveals an unexpected truth about faith through the story of Rahab, a Canaanite prostitute living in Jericho. What makes this passage so remarkable is that before Israel ever crosses the Jordan River, before any battles are fought, before the walls of Jericho crumble, we find the purest example of faith not in an Israelite soldier or leader, but in the most unlikely person imaginable. Rahab's story dismantles two dangerous lies we often believe: that our past disqualifies us from God's mercy, and that our religious background automatically qualifies us. Rahab shows us that faith isn't about having a clean past or perfect knowledge; it's about surrendered allegiance to the true God and taking refuge in the mercy He provides.
