Faith That Faces Reality

Reading: Matthew 26:36-46

Devotional: Jesus in Gethsemane shows us that faith doesn't deny reality; it faces it head-on while clinging to the Father. "Let this cup pass from me" was an honest prayer from the Son of God. He didn't pretend the cross would be easy. Yet He added, "Not my will, but yours be done." This is mature faith: acknowledging the pain while trusting God's purpose. Like Moses, who turned to God when people turned on him, we must make God our first response, not our last resort. Deliverance begins the moment you start walking with Him, even when the pain hasn't lifted yet. Keep walking. Keep talking to Him. He's already begun His work.

Reflection: How can you practice honest faith today, acknowledging difficulty while trusting God's purpose?
