When Darkness Feels Overwhelming

Reading: Isaiah 9:1-2

Devotional:
Israel stood at the edge of annihilation, watching the Assyrian army advance. The darkness wasn't imagined—it was real, visible, and terrifying. Yet God spoke promise into that very moment. Notice that God didn't wait for circumstances to improve before offering hope. He met them in their deepest darkness. Where are you experiencing darkness today? Perhaps it's relational strain, financial pressure, or spiritual exhaustion. God's pattern hasn't changed. He specializes in meeting us exactly where we are, not where we wish we were. The light of Christ shines brightest against the darkest backdrop. Your darkness isn't disqualifying—it's the very place God chooses to reveal His glory.

Reflection: What darkness are you currently facing that feels overwhelming? Can you invite God into that specific place today?
