The Danger of Repeated Refusal

Reading: Exodus 9:13-35

Devotional: Scripture says both that God hardened Pharaoh's heart and that Pharaoh hardened his own heart—ten times each. This paradox reveals a terrifying truth: repeated refusal creates an inability to respond. Like a worn path through grass, each choice makes the next easier until we can't see any other way. God exercises sovereign will through our real choices with real consequences. We cannot live passively, blaming God, nor can we ignore how cumulative decisions shape our capacity to hear Him. Pharaoh's first refusal felt manageable; by the tenth, he couldn't choose differently without divine intervention. What path are you wearing down through repeated choices? What refusal are you repeating that's hardening your heart toward God's voice?
