Interrupting The Panic

Reading: Exodus 14:10-14

Devotional: Fear doesn't just make you feel things—it rewrites your story. The Israelites saw Egypt approaching and immediately declared it would have been better to die as slaves than free in the wilderness. Panic speaks in absolutes: "This will never change," "I'm trapped forever," "God has forgotten me." Moses' response cuts through the hysteria: "Be still. The Lord will fight for you." Today, practice the 10-second interruption: Name your fear aloud, take three slow breaths, then pray one line—"Lord, stand between me and what's chasing me." The most dangerous enemy isn't always the external threat; it's the internal spiral that convinces you all is lost.

Reflection Question:
What story is your fear currently writing, and what would it look like to interrupt that narrative with stillness?
