Reading: Matthew 11:28-30
Devotional: Our culture worships at the altar of busyness. We believe peace is the reward for exhausting ourselves, something earned after we've conquered our to-do lists. But Jesus invites us to something counterintuitive: "Come to me, all who are weary...and I will give you rest." Notice He doesn't say, "Work harder, then rest." He offers rest as the starting point, not the destination. Christmas reveals this truth: God's peace came in the vulnerability of an infant, not the violence of a warrior. Peace entered through rest in a manger, not busyness in a palace. Today, identify one area where you're trying to earn peace through busyness. What would it look like to start with rest instead? Take one concrete step to release what you cannot carry and receive what only Christ can give. Fix your eyes on Him.
